Freezing Temperatures Damage Equipment
Remember, just like your Auto, your engines and pumps need protection when stored for the Winter. Remember to keep a little antifreeze in your water pumps to keep the impellers and seals from freezing. I know, last year I forgot to drain my high banker pump and ended up this past spring with a busted imput hose fitting. Once drained, just pour a little antifreeze in the input holes and hopefully next year you will be ready to get the Gold.

Dredging and High Banking Tip for the Fall
Fall is in the air and with that comes the falling of leaves. To prevent the loss of your water supply to your pump it is imperative to use a catch screen basket to prevent the foot valve from becoming blocked. A simple technique is to use a plastic 5 gallon bucket drilled with dozens of 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch holes to house your foot valve.
